Abstract
This study pays attention to the expansion of precarity and the horizontal stratification phenomenon discussed along with the entry into the service economy, and aims to empirically analyze the stratification pattern of young people who are relatively new entrants to the labor market. In this study, the occupational classes in the youth labor market were classified by skill level, and how young people move between skill based occupational classes over time was categorized. In addition, the influencing factors with the derived type of each mobility pattern as the dependent variable were explored. First as a result of classifing the types of mobility, four types were analyzed: ¨ç stable maintenance in high-skill occupation type, ¨è unstable mobility of medium-skill occupation type, ¨é upward mobility of occupational class type, and ¨ê unstable maintenance in low-skill occupation type. In other words, the degree and direction of mobility between occupational classes in the labor market experienced by young people presented different patterns, and a new aspect of stratification was observed. In addition, as a result of the analysis of the influencing factors, it was found that the chances of young people moving upward from the occupational class were high depending on the level of initial education level, the degree of education accumulation thereafter, whether they were engaged in the knowledge service industry, and whether they had a regular job.
